Trust plays a huge part in the emotional buying process of users online or off. When a user trusts you, likes you, or knows of your brand, the chances of conversions increase. More specifically, when a user is on your site and
sees a visual element that is a global representation of trust, this will increase trust in your brand and the user will feel more secure about giving your information or buying your product or service. Anytime you ask for sensitive or even personal information, try including a lock icon next to the field or area where you are asking for that information. Also try testing different lock images to see if that helps.
